Delta Air Lines this winter is planning to introduce two Mexico City routes as well as flights linking its Atlanta hub with Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe in the French West Indies.

The bankrupt major, which has been rapidly expanding services to the Caribbean and Latin America, on December 1 will add thrice-weekly nonstops from Orlando, Florida and Salt Lake City, Utah to Mexico City.

The twice-weekly Atlanta-Pointe a Pitre service is scheduled to launch on December 13.

Pending regulatory approvals, all three city pairs will be served with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, says Delta in a statement.

The Mexico City services bring to 41 the number of weekly flights served by Delta between the Mexican capital and the USA.

By March 2007, the carrier plans to offer service to nearly 20 Mexican destinations - nearly three times as many offered in 2004.
