Delta names new chief cargo officer

Delta Air Lines has named Tony Charaf as chief cargo officer, replacing Neel Shah, who recently stepped down from the position but who will serve in a consultant role to assist with the transition.

Charaf will also continue in his current role as president - TechOps MRO.

Charaf joined Delta in 1996 as director and in his current role as president, he re-engineered technical operations and built the Delta TechOps MRO business to more than $600 million in annual revenue.

Charaf will work closely with Ray Curtis, who has been promoted to vice president - cargo sales, to continue improving Delta's cargo business.
