Delta Air Lines has made a number of high-level staffing changes, including the appointment of Joanne Smith as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective 1 October.

The announcement comes as Delta says that Mike Campbell, current executive vice president of human resources and labor relations, will retire on 1 October.

Smith has been Delta’s senior vice president of inflight service, a position in which she led 20,000 flight attendants and administrative staffers and helped develop Delta’s onboard product and catering operations.

Smith has worked for the company since 2002.

Delta says Smith’s position as senior vice president of inflight service will be filled by Allison Ausband, currently vice president of reservation sales.

In addition, 29-year Delta veteran Charisse Evans will be the company’s new vice president of reservation sales and customer care, and Mary Loeffelholz will be vice president of ACS international operations, Delta says.
