Delta Air Lines has postponed the launch date for its Boeing 717-200 aircraft to at least 26 September.
The aircraft are scheduled to fly between Atlanta and Newark on 26 September, according schedules on the Atlanta-based SkyTeam carrier's website. This has been pushed back from 19 September.
Delta confirms the delay from 19 September but declines to comment on whether its first 717 flight will be on 26 September.
Select flights between Atlanta and both Cleveland and Little Rock operated by a 717 will begin on 25 October, according to flight schedules on the airline's website. Flights between Atlanta and Panama City, Florida, are scheduled to begin on 3 November.
Delta received its first of 88 leased 717s from Southwest Airlines in August and anticipates having 16 in its fleet by the end of the year.
The carrier will also receive its first Boeing 737-900ER from the airframer later in September, with service scheduled to begin on 3 November.
