Delta Air Lines has cancelled plans to launch nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Mexico City in June.
The Atlanta-based carrier cites an "underwhelming response" for the decision, it says.
Christine Kennedy, general manager of international network planning for Latin America and the Caribbean at Delta, told Flightglobal at the Routes Americas Forum in February that the planned route was a "good way to get our hat in South Florida". The flight would have connected with its codeshare partner Aeromexico's hub in Mexico City.
Delta announced the route in January.
