Delta Air Lines will no longer operate flights from New York JFK airport to Istanbul Atatürk airport in its winter schedule.

The last service to be operated by the carrier will be on 18 November 2012, with flights then resuming on 29 March 2013.

Delta had been using the now defunct Pan Am's historic slots for the route.

Earlier this month, United Airlines launched five times weekly New York-Istanbul flights. Turkish Airlines also recently increased its presence on the route to thrice daily.
