Delta Air Lines will begin flights between Los Angeles and San Jose, California, from 10 June.
The Atlanta-based SkyTeam alliance member's regional affiliate Delta Connection will offer four flights daily on the route with 65-seat Bombardier CRJ700s, it says.
Low-cost carrier Virgin America announced four-times daily service between Los Angeles and San Jose from 1 May, today as well.
Horizon Air, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines fly between Los Angeles and San Jose, according to Innovata schedules.
Delta will also increase frequency on four routes from Los Angeles on 10 June. It will add one daily flight to Oakland, Phoenix and Sacramento for a total of five, and one daily to San Francisco for a total of 12. All of the flights will be operated with 76-seat Bombardier CRJ900s except one leg of the San Francisco round-trip on a CRJ700.
The airline will also upgauge three of its nine flights between Los Angeles and Las Vegas to mainline aircraft from regional aircraft from 10 June.
