Gary Toomey's exit from the chief executive position at Jet Airways was a "phased change", says the Indian carrier's part-owner Etihad Airways.
"In the coming weeks, once the board convenes, the appropriate announcement in regards to succession will be made," adds Etihad president and chief James Hogan.
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad holds a 24% stake in Jet.
Hogan hails Toomey for his contribution during a seven-month stint at Jet's helm: "Gary's done a great job. He's helped us establish our position within Jet."
Toomey's involvement with Etihad is ongoing, Hogan indicates: "He'll continue to be associated with us moving forward."
