Dubai International airport handled 4.39 million passengers in May, up 10.4% compared with the same month last year.
The largest increase was recorded on routes to and from countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area, followed by Africa and western Europe.
Middle East passenger traffic continues to be affected by the instability in certain parts of the region, leading to a contraction of 2.5% in May, the airport says.
Aircraft movements for the month grew by 5% to 28,300, while cargo volumes at the airport declined by 0.1% to 188,000t.
The airport says it is "well on track" to hit 56.5 million passengers by the end of the year.
