Qatar Airways has disclosed that it will configure its Airbus A380s with 517 seats, including eight first-class positions.
The Doha-based airline ordered five A380s during the Dubai air show, and already has five on backlog.
Chief executive Akbar Al Baker said that they would be fitted with eight first-class and 42 business-class seats, with the remainder economy.
Qatar Airways ordered two A380s in 2001 and another three in 2007, while its latest deal also includes three options.
It has not selected a powerplant for the double-deck aircraft, and Al Baker insisted that suggestions that it had settled on the General Electric GP7200 were "incorrect".
