EADS has revealed it will relocate its currently separated headquarters in Munich and Paris to Toulouse.
The decision comes two weeks after former Airbus chief executive Tom Enders replaced Louis Gallois as CEO of the European aerospace group.
An EADS spokesman tells Flightglobal Pro that Enders addressed employees in both Paris and Munich earlier today to inform them about the decision.
While Enders will move to Toulouse together with Harald Wilhelm, chief financial officer, and Thierry Baril, chief human resources officer, certain functions will remain in both Munich and Paris.
According to company sources, the senior executive team has asked the divisional heads in both locations to work out proposals on how the move can be implemented.
The ideas will be developed through September and finalised thereafter.
The move follows earlier plans to combine the financial officer positions of both EADS and Airbus under Wilhelm, and the respective human resources responsibilities for Baril.
EADS says this is being done as Airbus is EADS' largest division, and Toulouse is thus EADS' "centre of gravity".
