Next week's ILA air show may be smaller than Farnborough, held two months later. But, despite its proximity to its better-known rival, the Berlin event has carved out a successful niche as a forum for aerospace nations in the east - emerging like India or reinventing themselves like Russia - to meet customers, suppliers and partners in the West.
