Easter's timing hits SAS load factor for April

Scandinavian Airlines' load factor for April declined 6.2 percentage points year-on-year, to 70%, as a 1.1% increase in revenue passenger-kilometres was outweighed by a 10% increase in capacity.

SAS Group cites the timing of Easter and eight new European route launches in reference to falling load factors.

Its mainline airline's passenger numbers rose 5.3% to 2.2 million passengers, driven by growth on shorter routes. Meanwhile, subsidiary Widerøe carried 251,000, up 18.3%.

Widerøe's load factor was down 1.5 percentage points.
