Proposed Arabian Gulf feeder airline Eastern Express anticipates giving details of its fleet plans around late September, according to chief executive Alex de Vos.
Local press reports have talked of a single 29-seat BAE Systems Jetstream 41 being used. De Vos has previously said that the Fujairah-based airline's initial aircraft would be a turboprop in the 30- to 50-seat range, but he declined to provide further details.
Although the new airline broke cover with its name earlier this month, many aspects of its planned operation must await the equipment announcement, together with further details to be revealed at this November's Dubai air show, he said.
He did reveal, however, that the airline's intended initial destination, Abu Dhabi, would be followed swiftly by services to Manama and Doha, the capitals of the Gulf states of Bahrain and Qatar, respectively.
