Low-cost carrier EasyJet has firmed its order for 100 Airbus A320neo twinjets as well as the conversion of options and rights on 35 regular A320s.
The decision follows a meeting during which EasyJet shareholders voted through the order plan.
EasyJet says the vote was 57% in favour and 43% against, with the overall vote representing 85% of the issued share capital.
The airline's founder, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, had already said that he would use his substantial shareholding to vote against the fleet-renewal plan.
Airbus states that EasyJet's board has confirmed the order following the shareholder approval. The airline has yet to disclose an engine selection.
