Russian maintenance specialist Engineering Holding has won a long-term contract to provide technical support for EasyJet at Moscow Domodedovo airport.

Effective 29 March, the deal includes ground handling as well as above- and below-the wing 'on-call' transit services for EasyJet's Airbus A320s.

Engineering Holding will also act as a handling agent to the carrier by supplying spares from its renewable stock of parts at Domodedovo.

EasyJet started flying to Moscow from London Gatwick and Manchester in March, having won bilateral rights for the Russian capital following the demise of British carrier BMI.

A spokesman for Engineering Holding says it is capable of carrying out line maintenance checks on the carrier's A320s if that is requested.

He adds: "We're prepared to provide such services not only at Domodedovo but at St Petersburg Pulkovo airport too."
