EasyJet is to add flights from London Luton to Catania next year.

From 30 March 2014, the UK low-cost carrier will serve the Sicilian destination thrice-weekly from Luton, where it is headquartered.

It expects "just under 20,000" passengers to fly on the route each year.

Catania is EasyJet's 40th destination from Luton, and the fifth Italian one, joining Milan, Olbia, Pisa and Venice.
