EasyJet plans to increase to seven the number of aircraft it has based at Manchester Airport.

The carrier recently took delivery of its sixth Manchester-based aircraft, and will base a seventh at the airport in time for the 2012 summer season.

EasyJet said it is analysing "potential new routes" to operate with the additional capacity.

"Our new commitment to expansion at Manchester is a reflection of the level of support we have received from customers since our launch here in 2008," said EasyJet UK director Paul Simmons.
