EasyJet is to boost capacity to and from Scotland by almost 9% this summer, with the stationing of a fifth Airbus A320 at Edinburgh Airport and the launch of four new routes.
The carrier will begin daily flights from Aberdeen to London Gatwick in June. It will also launch thrice-weekly service from Edinburgh to Athens on 20 September.
In addition, EasyJet plans to launch twice-weekly flights from Edinburgh to Tenerife on 19 September. It will also serve Grenoble from Edinburgh.
As well as basing a fifth A320 at Edinburgh, EasyJet will replace one of its four smaller Glasgow-based aircraft with an A320 to enable it to carry an additional 40,000 passengers a year from the airport.
The new routes increase to 41 the number of destinations served by EasyJet from Scotland.
