UK budget carrier EasyJet carried 5.25 million passengers in April, up 2.5% against the same month last year.

The airline's passenger load factor slipped 2.6 percentage points to 86.7% in the month, though EasyJet says this is broadly flat on an underlying basis when adjusted for the impact from the different timing of Easter this year and a French air traffic control strikes last year.

On a rolling 12 months, the airline carried a total of almost 60 million passengers, marking a 6.5% increase against the corresponding period.

Load factor grew is running nearly a point higher at 89.1%.
