EgyptAir is analysing its fleet requirements for the next 10 years and it expects the study to be completed by March 2013, when it will begin discussing new aircraft orders.

The airline's deputy vice-president of planning, Ehab Ghazi, says the study is a complete review of the fleet and that the Star Alliance carrier is likely to have a new aircraft order in place by the end of 2013.

Speaking at Embraer's Airline Business Seminar Africa in Mozambique, he voiced optimism that by the time the order has been placed Egypt's political situation should have "stabilised".
