Egyptian prime minister Kamal El Ganzoury has appointed EgyptAir CEO and chairman Hussein Massoud as the minister of civil aviation.

Massoud said his priorities as civil aviation minister would be to reorganise the ministry internally and to create a "homogeneous teamwork system".

Massoud is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) strategy and policy committee, as well as part of its nomination council and board of governors.

In addition, Massoud is the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) chairman and was the chairman of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) in the previous session.
