Israeli flag-carrier El Al has nearly trebled its second-quarter operating profit to $7 million.
The airline achieved the increase on the back of a 2% rise in operating revenues, which reached $530 million for the three-month period.
El Al's gross profit increased by 5% to $82 million, the carrier states in a disclosure to the Tel Aviv stock exchange.
It also turned around a net loss in the second quarter of 2012 to post a net profit of $3.7 million.
Load factor stayed flat at 82.4% as traffic increased by 6% in line with capacity.
El Al ended the first half with a net loss of $28.8 million, a marginal improvement on the interim figure last year. First-half revenues were up by 2% to $961 million.
