Embraer delivered 22 commercial jets in the second quarter, a 59% year-on-year decline.
First half deliveries of Embraer Commercial Aircraft also dropped 44% overall to 39 aircraft during the quarter ending on 30 June, compared to the same period last year.
Declines hit three of the four jets in the E-Jet family during the quarter, excluding only a slight increase for the Embraer 195.
Embraer's quarterly delivery cycle this year seems more calibrated to previous years, but still well under the trend. The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer recorded 25 deliveries during the second quarter in 2011 and 29 shipments in the 2010 quarter.
Although deliveries slowed in the second quarter and first half, Embraer successfully rebuilt the long-term backlog over the same period.
Embraer signed deals with United Airlines for 30 Embraer 175s and with SkyWest for 40 E-175s. SkyWest also agreed to order 100 E-175-E2 aircraft for delivery after 2017.
The combined deals drove the value of Embraer's firm order backlog to $17.1 billion, a peak since the third quarter of 2009, Embraer says.
