Embraer has contracted Liebherr-Aerospace to supply the high-lift and air-management systems for the second generation of the airframer's E-Jet family of regional aircraft.

The fly-by-wire-controlled wing flap and slat system will be developed and manufactured at Liebherr's facility in Lindenberg, Germany. This work spans hydraulic and electromechanical actuators, power-control units and a computer-based governing system.

The air-management system - comprising engine bleed air, cabin pressure control and air-conditioning systems - will be supplied from the equipment manufacturer's site in Toulouse, France.

Liebherr provides landing gears for the current E-Jets. The Switzerland-headquartered group supplies high-lift and air-management equipment for other Embraer types, including the ERJ-145 series and its business-jet derivatives.
