After withdrawing the Airbus A380 on its flights from Dubai to New York in March, Emirates plans to add the aircraft back on the route during the first six months of next year.
A carrier spokeswoman confirmed comments made earlier today by Emirates president Tim Clark in an interview with the Associated Press regarding placing the A380 back on the route.
In March Emirates announced it would remove the two A380s operating between Dubai and JFK, and shift the capacity to Toronto and Bangkok. The carrier said it would place a Boeing 777-300ER on the New York flight.
Emirates A380 flights to Toronto started on 1 June, and the carrier placed another A380 on one of its twice-daily flights to Bangkok.
