Emirates plans to add a second daily flight from Dubai to both Houston and Los Angeles on 31 October.

The new flights will be operated with Boeing 777s, which is the type Emirates currently operates in each market.

Emirates has been offering Dubai-Houston service since December 2007. It flights to Los Angeles followed roughly one year later in October 2008.

Currently Emirates flies from Dubai to four US cities - New York, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The Airbus A380 returns to Dubai-New York service on 31 October after Emirates pulled it from the route in March 2009 after the economic downturn caused the carrier to re-examine its positioning of the large aircraft. Emirates plans to keep the Boeing 777 operating on its second daily Duabi-JFK flight.
