Emirates Airline could be in the market to refinance a total of 20 aircraft including Boeing 777s and Airbus A330-200s. According to a banking source, the refinancing is be dependent on whether the carrier places an order for Airbus A350XWB or Boeing 787 aircraft at next week’s Dubai Air Show.
Emirates Airline is evaluating the A350-900 XWB and the proposed 787-10 models for its A330 fleet renewal, with deliveries starting from 2013/14. Currently it operates 29 A330-200s.
The refinancing would extend the leases on the existing aircraft to meet the deliveries of the new aircraft.
