Emirates Airline will introduce a Boeing 777-300ER to its Dubai-Lusaka-Harare route on 1 February, replacing the Airbus A330 it currently deploys.

The larger aircraft will result in an increase of more than 1,600 seats per week on the route. The airline's 777-300ERs can carry up to 354 passengers, while its A330s have a capacity of 237.

"Our Lusaka and Harare service has come of age and with demand continuing to increase, this is the right time for Emirates to be expanding its capacity," says Jean Luc Grillet, Emirates' senior vice-president commercial operations for Africa.
