Ethiopian Airlines will reconfigure its existing Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 fleet after receiving the first of five new turboprops from the manufacturer.

Ethiopian took delivery of its first re-configured Q400 on 28 September. Based on customer feedback, the airline had asked Bombardier to reconfigure its upcoming Q400s as well as those already in service.

The new aircraft have reclining seats in economy class and feature an improved galley that enables the service of hot meals on regional flights. They also have more luggage capacity and extra overhead bin space.

The upgraded Q400s have further been configured with two cabins, comprising seven business class seats and 60 economy class seats. Ethiopian's previous Q400s were in an all-economy configuration.
