Ethiopian receives $130m Ex-Im deal for GE-powered 777s

The US Export-Import Bank has authorised nearly $130 million in financing to support the export of Boeing 777 aircraft and GE-90 engines to Ethiopian Airlines.

From 2003 through 2013, Ex-Im k has approved more than $2.2 billion to finance exports of US-manufactured aircraft and aircraft engines to Ethiopian Airlines, according to the export credit agency.

n May 2012, Ex-Im authorised financing to support 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to Ethiopian. Four of the aircraft were funded through a capital-markets bond issuance in November 2012.

The new transaction will support an estimated 700 American jobs in the aircraft and aircraft-engine manufacturing industry, according to an Ex-Im estimate derived from US Departments of Commerce and Labour data and methodology.
