German investigators are looking into an incident in which an Etihad Airways Airbus A330-200 lost airspeed information during approach to Frankfurt.

The aircraft (A6-EYP), operating flight EY007 from Abu Dhabi, had been preparing to land at the German hub on 21 January, according to the French accident investigation agency BEA.

It says the twinjet lost "all three" airspeed indications on final approach.

Weather data at the time showed Frankfurt was experiencing light snow and temperatures around freezing point.

BEA says no-one was injured during the event, which involved a "total loss" of speed information. It says it received initial data on the incident from German authorities.
