Etihad Airways plans to start a daily Abu Dhabi-Phuket service on 26 October.
The carrier will use Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route, it says. Phuket will be its second destination in Thailand, after Bangkok.
Flightglobal’s FlightMaps Analytics shows that Air Berlin is the only operator on the Abu Dhabi-Phuket route.
Etihad owns a 29.2% stake in Air Berlin.
