Etihad Airways will consider strengthening its relationship with SkyTeam carrier Kenya Airways as it looks to further expand its presence in the African market.

The Gulf carrier has just added Lagos in Nigeria to its sub-Saharan African route network, which already includes flights to Johannesburg and the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

"We will continue to develop Africa where it makes sense," says Hogan, speaking at the sidelines of a press conference in Amsterdam to announce its new service to the Dutch city.

"We have a codeshare and SPA [special pro-rate agreement] agreement with Kenya Airways, and we are looking to strengthen that relationship."
