Etihad Airways has recruited Air Canada managing director of flight operations, Rick Allen, to become senior vice-president operations as part of several new appointments as it transitions to operating within a new group structure.
The new structure distinguishes the functions relating purely to Etihad Airways and those of recently unveiled Etihad Aviation Group, which support the growth of its subsidiaries, joint venture companies and equity partners.
In his new role Allen will be responsible for flight operations, guest services, crew resources, operations logistics, and operations standards for the airline.
Other appointments include Chris Youlten's promotion to the new position of senior vice-president airport and network operations. Youlten was formerly vice-president network operations at the airline.
