Prospective Etihad equity partner Alitalia will this month implement a new codeshare with the Gulf carrier's Indian partner Jet Airways.
The two carriers, which first codeshared on Jet's former flights between Milan and Delhi, will from 5 July begin codesharing on each other's respective flights into Etihad's Abu Dhabi hub.
Specifically Jet Airways will add its code to Alitalia flights from Rome Fuimicino to Abu Dhabi as well as on beyond domestic flights from the Italian capital to Bologna, Florence, Naples, Turin, Venice and Verona.
The Italian SkyTeam carrier meanwhile codeshare on Jet flights from from Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi into Abu Dhabi, as well as domestic links from both Delhi and Mumbai to Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Udaipur.
It marks a further cementing of the network co-operation between Etihad's equity and codeshare partners. The Gulf carrier, which already codeshares with Alitalia, is working on finalising a 49% investment in the Italian carrier.
