Etihad Airways and Garuda Indonesia have entered into a codeshare agreement on the Jakarta-Perth route.
Etihad will place its code on Garuda's daily services, which commenced on 28 June, and are being operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
"The Jakarta-Perth route adds a new dimension to our partnership with Garuda Indonesia which has developed in a mutually beneficial way since its signing last October - particularly in terms of operational and cost efficiencies," says Etihad president and chief executive James Hogan.
"The codeshare with Garuda to Perth demonstrates the effectiveness of our partnership strategy, enabling Etihad to continue its expansion in Australia and to contribute to tourism and economic growth."
Etihad does not fly to Perth in its own right, but serves the city by codesharing on partner carrier Virgin Australia's domestic network.
