Etihad Airways is to increase frequency on flights from Abu Dhabi to Munich to double-daily from February next year.
The Gulf carrier began service Munich in June 204 and will operate Airbus A330-300s on the double-daily service. It comes
“Munich, Germany’s third biggest city, has been one of our most successful European destinations because it retains very strong volumes of business and leisure passengers throughout the year," says Etihad chief executive James Hogan. “This doubling of capacity is about serving the growing bi-directional demand, adding depth and scale to our German operations, and facilitating better connections with equity partner Air Berlin."
The two carriers will offer 49 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from four German cities - Berlin, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt in addition to Munich.
Another Gulf carrier Emirates announced earlier this month plans to increase capacity on its double-daily Dubai-Munich flights by deploying Airbus A380 aircraft on both its frequencies from the end of March.
