Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways will wet lease a Boeing 747-8 freighter from US-based Atlas Air Worldwide.
The UAE airline signed a multi-year aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) agreement with the New York-headquartered 747F leasing specialist.
The 747-8F will join Etihad Cargo's fleet in June and carry the full livery of the Gulf carrier.
It will be Etihad's second Atlas-operated aircraft, after it agreed a similar deal for a 747-400F a year ago.
Aside from that 747-400F, Etihad wet leased an extended range 747-400ERF from KLM-Martinair Cargo in February. It also operates three 777Fs and three Airbus A330-200Fs.
Air freight is a "key strategic pillar" for Etihad, says chief executive James Hogan. The airline registered 19% tonnage growth in 2012 while capacity grew by 14%, he adds.
