The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has approved applications from Evergreen International Airlines and Iran Air to launch cargo services to the country.
Starting 13 August, Evergreen will operate a weekly New York-Frankfurt Hahn-Almaty-Chongqing-Shanghai-Nagoya-Anchorage-Chicago-New York service.
Iran Air will launch a weekly Tehran-Shanghai cargo service on 1 September.
The two carriers will operate Boeing 747 freighters on these services, says CAAC.
Schedules in Innovata show that Evergreen will compete with carriers such as Yangtze River Express on the Chongqing-Shanghai Pudong-Nagoya route. Iran Air will be the only operator on the Tehran-Shanghai Pudong route.
