Brazilian airframer Embraer delivered 69 aircraft during the second quarter, an 23% rise from the 56 aircraft customers accepted in the year prior.
Deliveries of executive jets, which include in the Phenom 100/300 very light jets, increased from 19 to 40 year-over-year. Embraer delivered 35 Phenom 100s compared with 13 the year-prior. Embraer delivered the first Phenom 300 at the end December 2009, and a second aircraft in January. During the second quarter the airframer recorded four Phenom 300 deliveries. Previously Embraer has said it plans to deliver 100 Phenom 300s this year.
Embraer's commercial aircraft deliveries fell from 35 to 29 aircraft year-over-year. The company's E-190 represented the bulk of the deliveries at 15, followed by five E-195s, four E-170s, three E-175s and two ERJ-145s.
As of 30 June, the value of Embraer's total firm order backlog of 232 aircraft was $15.2 billion, a 5% decrease from the $16 billion posted at the end of the first quarter. At the end of the second quarter of 2009 the value of Embraer's 340 aircraft backlog was $19.8 billion.
