ExpressJet Airlines is seeking authority to begin service between Atlanta and Grand Cayman from the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
The daily flight would operate year-round on either 76-seat Bombardier CRJ900 or 65-seat Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft under the Atlanta-based regional carrier’s capacity purchase agreement with Delta Air Lines, according to its application.
Delta already flies once daily between Atlanta and Grand Cayman on a Boeing MD-88, Innovata schedules show.
The Atlanta-based mainline carrier was not immediately available to comment on whether the ExpressJet flight would supplement or replace its existing service in the market.
No other carriers fly between Atlanta and Grand Cayman, according to Innovata.ExpressJet to add Atlanta-Grand Cayman flight
