Eznis Airways has appointed George Cooper as its new chief executive, replacing Sukhbaatar Munkhsukh, who led the airline for the past two years.

"Under his leadership, we believe, Eznis will further consolidate its achievements, embrace challenges and evolve as a sustainable and prosperous airline," says Bayanjargal Byambasaikhan, chief executive of Newcom, the airline's parent company.

Cooper started his career as a pilot with British Airways, where he worked for 26 years. He served in various technical and managerial positions - including the post of director of airline business, overseeing subsidiaries BA Regional, Brymon, Air Liberte, DBA and City Flyer Express.

Prior to joining Eznis Airways, Cooper served as chief executive of Kuwait's Wataniya Airways.
