The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed a $206,550 civil penalty against scheduled and chartered cargo carrier Martinaire Aviation of Addison, Texas, for violating hazardous materials regulations.

The FAA alleges that the airline routinely failed to complete documents properly and comply with the requirements for notifying pilots in command about hazardous materials transported as cargo.

Martinaire accepted 17 shipments of hazardous materials for transportation by air on 12 flights between 1 April and 22 June 2011.

The airline has 30 days from the receipt of the enforcement letter from the FAA to respond to the agency.
