Russian flag-carrier Aeroflot has firmed its order for 11 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, having recently disclosed that its board had approved the plan.

Airbus has detailed the agreement at the Farnborough Air Show today.

It has not given an engine selection for the aircraft, although Aeroflot's current fleet of 10 A330-200s and -300s is entirely powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700s.

The aircraft will be configured with a two-class layout featuring some 300 seats. Aeroflot previously stated that the jets would be delivered over the 2011-13 period.

Aeroflot is a customer for the Airbus A350 XWB, with a commitment for 22.

Its decision to order the additional A330s comes despite Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin's recent concerns that the flag-carrier was not supporting the country's own aircraft manufacturing industry.
