Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has firmed its order for 11 Airbus A330-300s, having recently disclosed that its board had approved the plan.

Airbus detailed the agreement at the Farnborough air show. It has not revealed its engine selection, although Aeroflot's current fleet of 10 A330-200s and -300s is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700s.

The aircraft will be configured with a two-class layout featuring 300 seats. Aeroflot has previously said that the jets would be delivered in 2011-13.

Aeroflot is a customer for the Airbus A350 XWB, with a commitment for 22. Its decision to order the additional A330s comes despite Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin's recent concerns that the flag carrier is not supporting the country's own aircraft manufacturing industry.
