Aeroflot has contracted CAE to supply a new Airbus A330 full-flight simulator in a further move to expand its cabin crew training capabilities.
Under the agreement, disclosed during the Farnborough air show, CAE is to install a Level D training device fitted with a six-way electric-driven adjustment and high-precision visualisation systems.
It will complement flight simulators at Aeroflot's in-house training centre, which already has capability to train pilots for the A320 aircraft family and will soon have a full-flight simulator for the Sukhoi Superjet 100.
The airline says there are also plans to acquire similar equipment to train pilots for a string of other western and domestic aircraft types that it has on its order book.
These include the Boeing 777, the 787, the A350 and the MS-21.
