Bombardier says that it is still in talks with Utah-based regional carrier SkyWest Airlines for an order of large regional jets, following the airline's agreement in principal with Mitsubishi Aircraft for 100 MRJs today.

"SkyWest is a very important customer," says Bombardier on the sidelines of the Farnborough air show. "We have the best product that is available now for SkyWest."

The carrier is the largest regional airline in the US.

Embraer declines to comment.

SkyWest, with its subsidiaries SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet, operates more than 420 CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft as well as nearly 250 Embraer 135 and 145s.
