Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Company (GAMECO) has completed a retrofit of China Southern Airlines premium economy cabins.
The maintenance, repair and overhaul firm performed this work on 238 aircraft across the carrier's fleet, including Boeing 737s and 777s and Airbus A319s, A320s, A321s and A330s.
GAMECO completed the design, certification and installation in the first six months of 2010, with installation taking place during overnight turns at China Southern's various line stations.
"By working with GAMECO on the branded Premium Economy Cabin upgrade to our fleet, China Southern Airlines was able to realise significant savings, while offering our customers a high quality Premium Economy service," says Dong Su Guang, the carrier's executive vice-president.
GAMECO is a joint venture between China Southern and Hong Kong's Hutchinson Whampoa.
