Jetstar Japan has finalised a sale and lease agreement with Hong Kong Aviation Capital (HKAC) for four Airbus A320 aircraft.
The first of the aircraft is due for delivery in October, two will follow in 2013 and the last one will be delivered in 2014. The deal will mean that nearly 20 of the lessor's fleet will be with the Jetstar group.
HKAC chief executive Donal Boylan says: "We are very pleased to introduce Jetstar Japan as a new portfolio customer which further supports our expansion in the Asian region."
He adds that HKAC believes there is strong potential for low-cost carriers in the Japanese market and as such "Jetstar Japan, with its unique blend of shareholders, can be very successful and profitable".
